A couple of wonky cottages, now two stunning Airbnb’s
The Soulful Stays Story
Powerhouse design and build duo Lydia & Shane commenced their foray into the world of short-stay accommodation with the Good Soul Cottage in 2021, joined by Soul Sister Cottage in 2023. Each cottage brought its own history and personality, with Good Soul Cottage bearing the slight remnants of severe flooding to the Inveresk area in 1929 which saw the little cottage all but underwater.
It was a labour of love to complete each transformation with both cottages now proudly standing alongside neighbouring heritage cottages of the same era, in quaint and quiet streets with stunning new looks thanks to Lydia’s fabulous interior design skills and Shane’s to-the-millimetre building flair.
And because renovating a wonky little cottage isn’t something you do every day, they decided to document the process of creating Good Soul Cottage into a timeless haven in Launceston.
